Roche Diagnostics is a global leader in the in-vitro diagnostics industry. Recent years have seen a number of new EU and US industry directives and regulations, for example, companies like Roche Diagnostics now need to supply product support information in each market’s local language. Also, in an increasingly competitive (and global) market, product usability and easy access to good quality support information are now important competitive advantages. Consequently, translation and localization of documentation, online help and software have become extremely important issues.
For more than two years, 3di has worked closely with the Roche Diagnostics Documentation Managers, their processes and standards. The results have been multi-lingual documentation produced quickly and efficiently.

Nokia and 3di - Implementing the DITA Concept. Developing a common XML content architecture based on DITA (the Darwin Information Typing Architecture).
The mobile phone arm of Nokia asked 3di Information Solutions to provide consultation services to evaluate common content architectures for their new XML modular content solution (MODE) and to carry out proof of concept (POC) activities.

Complinet is the market-leading publisher of information and provider of software solutions to the international financial services industry. 3di was asked to translate and localize an e-learning course for one of Complinet’s global customers into 8 languages, including East European and Asian types. Complinet’s requirement was for localized, SCORM-compliant output that was ready to deploy in all 8 languages

Citrix Systems is a global leader in access infrastructure, with almost 50 million people in more than 120,000 organisations worldwide relying on Citrix products to do their jobs. 3di’s resourcing division has supported Citrix in maintaining their authoring and translation teams at full strength by successfully recruiting a number of specialists. In all instances, candidates had to meet an exacting set of criteria in order to be accepted into the Citrix teams.

RS Components Ltd, part of Electrocomponents PLC, is Europe’s leading distributor of electronic, engineering and related components and products. Due to an increasingly diverse range of products on offer, RS realised that changes were needed in the way that their catalogue product information and content were designed, presented and published. 3di was asked to assemble, train and manage a team of content authors and editors to help.

A major global telecoms company: Information design and localization management strategy. 3di provides two separate divisions with specialist information design and localization consultancy services. 3di consultants are currently working with them to identify more efficient tools and methodologies to reduce costs and turnaround times for global content management and creation.
A global life science diagnostics company: Technical software and documentation localization into five languages. Our customer’s product was developed with legacy software tools. Translated versions must comply with latest EU regulations and have undergone an extensive QA cycle managed by 3di. We are now providing information design consultancy to help decide about the most appropriate tools and approaches for the next generation of products.
