Technical author – Cambridge (/home)

Short-term contract (duration TBD)

Ref: SR/081

3di is looking for someone to update an existing help system for one of our projects. You’ll need to prioritise your work to ensure that you provide explanations of new functionality and improve existing content within the project timescales. Our customer produces a graphic design application so they want a help system that is elegant and attractive as well as being useful and accurate. You will work in close contact with the software development team, so initially you will have to be available to work on-site in the Cambridge area. Later, there may be an opportunity to work partly from home.

We're looking for a technical author with at least 5 years professional experience and a sound understanding of information design principles. You will be an expert RoboHelp user with substantial experience of designing and delivering help systems. Experience of screencasting (Captivate, Camtasia, etc), graphics applications and various web technologies could also be useful. Also we'd be interested in any evidence that you personally have designed and created any documentation that has a significant degree of 'visual design' in its layout and presentation of information. Member of ISTC or STC preferred.

Start date: End August
